The Nintendo Wii U is the newest element of excitement to add to your home entertainment repretoire as Nintendo’s Newest Home Console System. With the Nintendo Wii U you experience a revolutionary new method of console gaming having a touchscreen element added to your controller’s already precision motion controls and full HD graphics. This is sure to provide a whole new range of possibilities and pleasures for the child to the kid at heart to enjoy in the near future. As always Nintendo has taken the bar and set it higher showing us just how versatile and advanced a gaming console can truly be.
The Wii U is said to be Launching in the 4th Quarter of 2012. The Wii U COnsole Unit will be a minimalistic 1.8 inches tall, only 6.8 inches wide and 10.5 inches long. The new controller has also taken on that slimline appearance being less then 1 inch thick, only 5.3 inches high and 9 inches wide. The new Wii U controller includes a 6.2 inch screen with a touchscreen with a 16:9 wide ratio, traditional buttons as well as will include two analog circle pads.
You can also utilize up to four of your original Wii Remotes as well as your Wii Plus Remotes at the same time. The New Wii U will support all previous Wii input devices and controllers including the Wii Nunchuktm controller, Classic Controllertm, Clasic Controller Protm and the Wii Balance Boardtm for you fitness guru’s.
The Console runs off of a IBM Based Multi Core Processor and utilizes the powerr of the AMD Radeon High Definition GPU. Video output will support 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i and will accept HDMI, component, S-Video and composite forms of connection. The Wii U utilizes an AV multi out connector, a six channel PCM linear output through HDMI.
As with the Wii system, the Wii U will have an internal flash memory as well as the option to increase your storage capabilities using either an SD Memory Stick or even a usb flash drive using one of the 4 available usb ports.
The Wii U is also backwards compatible, meaning you can still play your older games on your new system such as your Wii Games. As always Nintendo has stated these considerations are all subject to change, but I am sure if it does it will only be for the better.
The highlight game for the Wii U when viewing the Nintendo Network website shows the possibility of integrating your own mii character into the newest installment of the Super Mario Saga. Just imagine your custom Mii character running along side Mario and Luigi gathering coins and defeating Bowser.
